Three Bananas Amps 2x12 variable back

Oversized 2×12″ guitar cabinet with slanted front and variable back. The sound is very similar to a 4×12″ but with reduced size and weight. The speakers are placed diagonally and together with the slanted front you can hear your tone even at short distances. The cabinet is made entirely of baltic birch and the overall construction with box joints provides a classic sound with a semi-resonant response. The variable back gives you maximum tonal flexibility:

Leaving the back open makes the cabinet sound more open and natural. The sound radiates from the back and becomes more room filling. In a live situation without monitoring, this setting can also benefit your bandmates; in a studio setup, it opens up the possibility of miking the cabinet from the back as well.

Closing the back will cause the cabinet to spread the sound forward. The sound will be more articulate with more punch and definition. On stage, this will benefit acoustic separation, while the maximised punch and definition may be exactly what you are looking for during recordings.
